Behind the Scenes of Star Wars

This page will look at some of the sillier scenes from Star Wars that Mr. Lucas (with the lid off) decided to cut. We've been able to obtain this previously-thought-lost footage by digging through many a dumpster. I hope you enjoy it and it can help provide some insight into the world of Star Wars! If you also have some lost Star Wars footage, please contact me so I can add it to the page. Since the film was in bad shape I've only been able to provide certain frames. Many of the images deal with Boba Fett as I was able to salvage most the the Boba Fett demo reel.

1/5/99 Ohh Look, New Stuff!!!! Stormtrooper Bloopers!!!

In this scene, bounty hunter Boba Fett is preparing to surprise Han Solo in the park at Mos Eisley. This scene was cut because it was felt that Boba Fett's hiding place was too obvious and the audience would not like to be played down to.
In the early days of filming the Star Wars movies, there was sometimes a lack of imagination for characters, as we can see from this frame. Here we see Boba Fett standing victorious over what appears to be some rogue household appliances that obviously had bounties on them.
You may think this is a scene with the Sarlaac pit on Tatoonine, but you're wrong. I have it from reliable sources that this was to be the "beach blanket bingo" scene that Frank Oz pushed so hard for, but was cut in the end because they felt it wouldn't fit into the plot very cleanly. Here we can see an irate Boba Fett with sand in his shoes as he comes to break up the party.

The original idea for the Slave I (Boba Fett's spaceship) was to use a modified Chevrolet Caprice. This frame shows Boba Fett disarming the safety on his blaster after just landing the Slave I (caprice) on Endor. You'll want to note the paved roads on Endor. These were also later removed from the final film.
